This winter has been the winter for extreme sloth-ing. Cozy hoodies, mismatched fuzzy socks, snuggling underneath my fluffy Rumpl blanket with some hot spiced cider in hand… The Outdoor Research Antora Hoody has been my favorite pick for those casual days.
Available through Outdoor Research | Amazon
The fabric of the Antora Hoody is 100% polyester cationic dyed micro stripe knit, super soft and luxurious. The fit is labeled as trim, but I ordered a Small–it doesn’t come in an XS–so the piece had plenty of breathing (cookies) room. Other Antora Hoody features include an adjustable hood, zippered kangaroo hand pockets, and an 11″ zipper with gusset.
Casual enough to rock to the office, technical enough for days outside, the Antora Hoody has become the hoody I pick up off the ground first. I suspect that once it gets warmer, it’ll be the replacement for my #1 commute jacket, the Uberlayer.
It’s a good layer for cool days where I’m moving a lot but if there’s a chance it will be very sunny or warm, I’m not as fond of the hoody. The gussett makes it tough to dump heat quickly like you would with a regular quarter zip jacket. The design toes the line between lifestyle and technical, making it at home in the office or on the trails.
