Mountain Hardwear Desna Grid Jacket vs. Arc'teryx Delta LT Jacket Comparison

I’ve reviewed the Arc’teryx Delta LT and I’ve tested the Mountain Hardwear Desna Grid Jacket. They both fill the same niche and are nearly identical in terms of materials, so which one is better?

What it boils down to is personal fit preference.

Both the Arc’teryx Delta LT and the Mountain Hardwear Desna Grid are lightweight midlayer fleeces composed of Polartec. The Delta LT is made from the Polartec® classic Micro Velour small Grid. The Desna Grid consists of Polartec® Power Dry® High Efficiency. Both trap heat, wick away moisture and are incredibly breathable. The Delta LT weighs in at 8.6 oz while the Desna Grid is a little heavier at 11.4 oz.

I found that the Mountain Hardwear Desna Grid fit me better than the Arc’teryx Delta LT. At 5′ and approximately 105lbs with a short torso and long legs, the Desna Grid had a more trim cut than the Arc’teryx Delta LT. My biggest complaint with the Delta LT is that the torso cut was pretty short, and that’s coming from a person who has a short torso. But then again, I like my jackets long.

So, that’s my verdict! Do you own either or both of these? What are your thoughts?

Buy the Arc’teryx Delta LT through Arc’teryx or Amazon for $129. Buy the Mountain Hardwear Desna Grid Jacket through Mountain Hardwear or Amazon for $150.
